Westchester County Department of Public Safety Implements PASSUR(R)
GREENWICH, Conn., April 7, 2008 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ — Megadata Corporation (BULLETIN BOARD: MDTA) announced today that the Westchester, NY County Emergency Operations Center (EOC) has implemented the PASSUR Rapid Response(TM) Program for live airspace monitoring of all aircraft and immediate playback and analysis of any airspace event.
“The PASSUR program has been a great addition to the Westchester County Airport. It enhances our efforts to keep the airport safe and secure for all who use it,” said Commissioner Thomas Belfiore of the Westchester County Department of Public Safety.
“Airport and airline operations centers have been using our PASSUR solutions for emergency response for years so we’re very pleased that government operations and emergency management centers are availing themselves of the same proven capabilities,” said Jim Barry, Megadata’s President and CEO.
PASSUR Rapid Response(TM) allows emergency responders to be fully informed and proactive in responding to aviation-related emergencies in real time, and analyze their performance post-event, through displays and analytical tools powered by independent PASSUR radar data. It provides real-time aircraft status for all airborne traffic, precise airspace visualization, and the immediate replay of flight events with a high level of precision, specificity and detail, to improve the efficiency and safety of operations. Rapid Response is driven by the PASSUR radar network and live aviation database.
